As
a family enterprise of first and second generation home
builders, the “Savo” name is among the most recognized and
well-respected in Staten Island’s building industry.
Originally from Rome, Italy, Savino was the first to
emigrate to the U.S. where he found work as a concrete
mason. The family business expanded into residential
development by the early 1970s and to this day, Savino
continues to be involved as the company’s Chairman of the
Board. He is also active in community affairs and is one of
the founders of Victory State Bank.
The second-generation “Brothers” include:
Bruno Savo, who runs corporate activities from their central
office, is the former President of the Building Industry
Association of New York City and the current Treasurer for
the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce.
“We strive for good customer relations and superior
construction with every Savo project,” says Michael Savo,
whose specialty includes site development and construction
management of each project. He believes “the most important
thing is a solid foundation…that’s where quality begins.”
Rounding out the management team is brother-in-law Sam
Crispi, whose primary goal is “finish to key.” Sam believes
“the customers benefit because a team manager is involved in
each phase of the construction process from design to
delivery, ensuring both quality and customer satisfaction.”
Today, the Savo business is built on a reputation for
success that includes award-winning communications such as
Chelsea Estates and Galloway’s Landing in Tottenville,
Beachcomber Estates in South East Annadale, Meadowland
Estates in Dongan Hills, and their most recent community,
Sailor’s Key on the Eastern Shore of Staten Island in Great
Kills.
With more than 1,000 homes closed over the past 30 years,
the family has also amassed varied and well-rounded building
experiences, including the construction of shopping centers,
townhouse communities and single-family estate residences.
The tradition of excellence continues to this day, founded
on values handed down from one generation to the next. With
Savo Brothers, you really can say,“It runs in the family!”
