Welcome to Staten Island's South Shore...
Welcome to Galloway's Landing!
The first boat used to ferry people from Perth Amboy,
New Jersey to Tottenville, Staten Island was the
"Maid of Perth", which set sail in 1887. The popular
ferry service continued to flourish as a part of
the Staten Island Rapid Transit system. It remained
profitable even after opening the Outerbridge Crossing
in 1928. But times would change and the company's
last ferry, The Charles Galloway, left Perth Amboy
for Tottenville on October 16th, 1948; unable to
compete with the increasingly popular "family car".
This last ferry is now commemorated in the name,
Galloway's Landing - Savo Brothers' newest neighborhood,
designed and build with pride especially for you
and your family.
